Innovative companies and professionals use 3D…….

Many people are amazed with the use of computer 3D modeling, animation and digital effects in block buster movies such as Golden Compass, Open Season, Spider Man 3 and Monster House. Similarly such 3D technology is also widely used for innovations in product and architectural design, scientific visualization and visual arts in the real world.

This course focuses on getting trainees quickly equipped with 3D skills to be able to produce 3D Visualization to support these industries in the real world which are the pillars of Singapore’s economy and which are fast harnessing 3D technology to give them a competitive edge.

Our Comprehensive 3D Visualisation Course …….

We offer structured, customized, modular and progressive course curriculum to teach and enthuse trainees to work in the 3D space. Trainees are guided through the features and techniques of 3D modelling, animation and rendering while working and building on different project.   Trainees are handheld through complete project cycles to equip them to manage 3D projects when they join the industry.

3D Design and Visualisation Course (Endorsed Under Enhanced CITREP)

Requirement: Applicants must complete 3D Modelling & Animation (core module). The elective modules are optional to take. Upon completion of the abovementioned course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from us.

CORE module: (Compulsory: 1 Module only)
Elective module: (Optional: 1 or more Modules)

3D Modelling & Animation (3 days) – CORE module (Compulsory)

This module is an introduction to trainees on the different elements of 3D modelling, animation and rendering.   It covers theory and practice, as well as an understanding of the workflow and fundamentals of 3D.

Storyboard (0.5 days) – Elective module
(Optional)

This module covers the basic elements of Storyboard, starting with a simple storyboard illustration. Trainees will learn various camera framings, angles, movements and also the composition of a scene.

Lighting & Post Effects (1 day) – Elective module
(Optional)

This module covers the concepts and theory of lighting, Global Illumination and post effects. Trainees will learn the basic principles of lighting up a scene. The course also imparts more in-depth knowledge on the use and application of Post Effects.

3D Painting (1 day) – Elective module
(Optional)

This module provides trainees with an understanding of the concepts and theories of 3D painting.    Trainees will be equipped with the skills to paint directly on a 3D model as well as by unwrapping the UV map. Trainees will also learn about the workflow of 3D painting

Motion Graphics (0.5 day) – Elective module
(Optional)

This module provides trainees with an understanding of the concepts and theory of Motion Graphics. Trainees will be taught to do simple cloning, types of Effectors and creating everything from flying logos to abstract effects.

Dynamics (1 day) – Elective module
(Optional)

In this module, trainees will learn animation and manipulation of objects using real physical values such as gravity, mass, elasticity, tension, friction, collision detection and wind that simulate real-world motion. Trainees will be able to mimic realistic physical properties without any key framing.

Particle and Special Effects (1 day) – Elective module
(Optional)

This module will teach trainees how to make use of rule- and event-based particle system to create awesome effects.   Objects can be made to crumble apart and reform as a different shape; particles can be made to react to other objects or made to follow defined rules.

Character Modelling & Animation (4 days) – Elective module
(Optional)

This module teaches trainees the workflow involved in creating, setting and animating a character using simple rigging. Trainees will also be equipped with the skills to create hairstyle and clothing.

The Enhanced Critical Infocomm Technology Resource Programme (Enhanced CITREP) supports up to 80% of the course fees, capped at $3,000 per trainee, whichever is lower. Organisations who sponsor their employees for training for full time training can also benefit from Absentee Payroll. Terms and conditions apply. For details, please visit www.ida.gov.sg/citrep.
