De La Salle College of St Benilde (CSB) and IM Innovations (IMI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 8th March 2017 as a strategic commitment to jointly develop capabilities in 3D animation and visual effects using MAXON Cinema 4D.
|The MOU provides a collaborative framework on an exchange of technical expertise and a sharing of valuable resources. CSB will host the MAXON Authorised Training Partner at the School of Design and Arts (SDA) as well as introduce Cinema 4D into some of its curriculum. IM will provide the complete MAXON Cinema 4D education curriculum, conduct training workshops and seminars as well as introduce suitable internship opportunities as well as suitable industry projects.|
The event is held at the SDA campus in Metro Manila. Signing the MOU is Mr. Robert Tang and IM Managing Director Mr. Vincent Ong. It is witnessed by the Dean of SDA, Arch. Asela Domingo, Associate Dean of CSB SDA New Media Cluster Ms. Maria Sharon Arriola and Ms. Jasmine Tan, Director of IM Innovations.
CSB Chancellor Mr. Robert Tang remarked that this partnership inked today with IM Innovation is a testament to living the vision espoused by CSB Founder, Saint John Baptist de la Salle that education should be dynamic and serve the professional development of individuals.
Mr. Ong felt that “Philippines is well-known for 2D animation skills and talents. Now is the right time to train and develop a local pool of 3D animators and visual effects artists to attract more world-class animation and visual effects companies to outsource such work or to set up new studios in the Philippines.”
Dean Asela said "We are challenged to take Benilde into the international arena and yet we are reminded to make our institutional homefront ready for such endeavor. I believe this Benilde and IM collaboration is achieving both….And now this Cinema 4D addition to our portfolio, will surely help us propel our program further to greater heights."
We hope that with this MOU, we will groom the next generation of 3D animators and visual effects artists, who will aspire and eventually use such technologies to create Philippines very own international blockbuster movies in the future.
