Science Centre Singapore is hosting the world-renowned Pixar: 20 Years of Animation - the highly-anticipated international exhibition that transports you into an imaginative world of animation - from 2 April 2010 to 27 June 2010.
Pixar: 20 Years of Animation takes you behind the scenes of the cutting-edge studio that created UP, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., Toy Story, Cars, The Incredibles and Ratatouille. All of these Pixar movies have enchanted and delighted both children and adults for over two decades. The exhibition features over 300 sketches, paintings, sculptures and storyboards, going behind the scenes to reveal how Pixar’s much-loved characters and worlds are brought to life. In addition to these one-of-a-kind works by artists and sculptors, the exhibition includes spectacular immersive environments and interactive experiences developed by Pixar to extend the magic of their films.
The exhibition also includes a local 3D animation segment where IM Innovations, in partnership with Temasek Polytechnic (TP), will showcase its expertise in 3D animation and interactive digital media at the Interactive Digital Centre Asia (IDC Asia) booth which is located at Annexe A in Science Centre Singapore. Themed ‘3D for Everyone!’ the exhibits in the IDC Asia booth offer the unique alternative view that 3D and digital media is not confined to professionals in the movies, broadcast and games development markets. It can be pervasively used and harnessed. Even nine-year-olds can learn to use 3D software tools and develop high-quality content which includes animation. 3D digital media can also be creatively used in key economic sectors such as for education, manufacturing, engineering and healthcare.
