‘Singapore History Alive with 3D!’, a new 3D project unveiled at the NEGC 2010 exhibition

December 29, 2010

A new upcoming 3D project by IM Innovations, ‘Singapore History Alive with 3D!’ was unveiled at the inaugural National Education Gaming Championship (NEGC) at D'Marquee, Downtown East on 24 Nov 2010.

Hosting the Guest-of-Honour, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at our exhibition booth, we provided a preview of how teachers in MOE schools can soon augment their social studies or history lessons with 3D education games and animation to better engage students and inject fun into classroom teaching and learning.

Justin Arul Pierre, Principal of Pasir Ris Primary School, our partner pilot school for this project, commented that this innovative project will “provide the opportunity for our students to cross the boundary of time to‘re-live’ the sight and sound of past. With a more engaging classroom learning experience by immersing the students’ in a virtual environment, the students will be better equipped with the knowledge, skills and values to make informed decisions and to communicate and work as team-players in a multi-cultural and interdependent world.”

Exhibiting together with our strategic partner for this project, Temasek Polytechnic, we showed how viewers, using auto-stereoscopic LCD technology, can enjoy stereographic effects for 3D games or animation without the need for special glasses. We plan to include a new module to train students and professionals in the creation of stereo and auto-stereoscopic 3D contents in our current 3D courses.
