3D Graphics and Animation Competition 2012's theme was "The World Through My Eyes", allowing participants to visually express their opinions about how they viewed the world.
Once again, IM Innovations has teamed with its education partner, Temasek Polytechnic - School of Engineering to organize the 5th annual 3D Graphics & Animation Competition for secondary school students. Moving away from tradition, the finals were held for the first time at the National Library on 4 December 2012.
Participants of the competition thought about how they looked at the world today, and put their ideas into visualisations. Capturing their ideas in stills and animation clips, participants used MAXON’s professional-grade CINEMA 4D software. In the process, they used their imagination, pushed boundaries, and expressed their views.
Entries were creative and entertaining, and showed how easy it is for anyone to pick up skills in 3D animation with CINEMA 4D. Only six of the top teams qualified for the Grand Finals, where they showcased their masterpieces, and everyone saw how CINEMA 4D could be learnt and applied easily, even by students. The quality and originality of the work impressed the judges and the audience, and the students smiled happily as they were applauded for their effort and hard work.
Judges comprised of representatives from IM Innovations, Temasek Polytechnic, and Moving Bits, a US and Singapore based production house.
