Discover the endless possibilities of 3D at the 3D for the Real World Seminar

IM Innovations was delighted to conduct a series of 3D Seminars in August 2012, in partnership with Temasek Polytechnic and with the support of NLB Public Libraries. The seminars were spread across 3 days and were conducted at Bishan Public Library, Woodlands Regional Library and Serangoon Public Library.

Themed “3D for the Real World”, the seminars aim to discover the endless possibilities of 3D with the public. It is one of the outreach programs that IM Innovations has organized to spread 3D enthusiasm among students, educators and industry professionals.

Most people are familiar with the use of 3D animation and visual effects in block- buster movies like Iron Man 2, the Avengers, the Prometheus and Incredible Hulk and also in TV Commercials and games. However, few know that 3D can also be applied in many other areas.

During the seminars, using videos done by both students and industry professionals to showcase their works, the audience learnt that if they explore further, 3D can also be used in other areas such as engineering, architecture, science, education and many more.

Apart from being fascinated by the videos, the audience were also amazed as they went “behind the scenes” to look at how 3D objects are modelled, animated and finished with a touch of visual effects. The demonstration showed the public how 3D can be fun and easy!

That was not all! 3D Anaglyph, also known as stereoscopic pictures, were also introduced to the audiences. Given 3D spectacles with red and blue lenses, the audiences had a fun time experiencing the “pop-out” 3D images!

The seminars ended with much excitement and enthusiasm about the possibilities of 3D.

As you let your imagination run wild and discover your own possibilities of 3D for the real world, stay tune for more 3D Seminars coming your way!
