The newest update of Lightmap’s popular tool offers numerous new HDRI lighting options for Cinema 4D users.
HDR Light Studio 5.3.3 was released mid-May and includes a wide range of optimizations for lighting workflows. 3D artists can now interactively manage HDRI environments and area lights with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Area lights edited in HDR Light Studio are updated automatically in Cinema 4D via the Cinema 4D Connection. The area lights are positioned using LightPaint and Smart Dolly. Area lights can be easily positioned using LightPaint by simply clicking on the 3D model in the viewport. Smart Dolly can be used to easily control the distance and size of lights using a slider and just as easily adjust the LightPaint Reflection, Illumination and Rim modes.
Cinema 4D Connection lets area lights be integrated into the following renderers: Cinema 4D, VRay, Arnold, Octane, Maxwell and Thea.
The HDRI Light Studio (Canvas) environment map is also shared with the supported renderers. Low-res maps during the lighting process ensure fast interaction speeds. High-res HDRIs are then brought into Cinema 4D using the Cinema 4D connection for final rendering.
Customers with active service agreements or subscriptions can update HDR Light Studio online directly at www.lightmap.co.uk. New customers can also purchase HDR Light Studio online or they can visit the nearest authorized reseller.
