Nothing better for the soul than a visual treat of intricate and mind-blowing animation, which took place during the Meet and Mingle with 3D Artists & Animators event at Emily Hill, on 23rd March 2017 evening.
We jointly organised this event with Six Degrees, a community that brings different people of arts & creative industries together.
Gracing the occasion is our special guest, Chaie, an executive designer with HBO Asia. Besides sharing some of her own personal works, Chaie also captivated our audience with an impressive portfolio consisting different projects she did for HBO Asia. These ranged from trailers for ‘The Newsroom’ to teasers for the 2017 Oscars.
Yuen Pan or YP, our demo artist then demonstrated and explained how modelling and animation in Cinema 4D works. As most of the audience were new to 3D modelling and animation, YP demonstrated just how easily it can be accomplished using Cinema 4D. First, he utilised primitive modelling to quickly transform basic shapes like spheres into a chess rook. He then proceeded to cover polygonal/parametric modelling, animation and the impressive Fracture Voronoi function. All these in under 15 minutes!
The attendees were also introduced to ready-made high resolution 3D models, materials and preset templates available in the content library. These ready-mades are also customizable to allow more diversity. With the content library, creative professionals can increase their productivity by multitudes
The audience were then shown how industry-leading tools like MoGraph in Cinema 4D could be used by motion graphics designers to create stunning 3D motion graphics and visuals effects with just the press of a few buttons. For Adobe After Effects CC (AE CC) users, there was also the seamless integration between AE CC and Cinema 4D for a convenient workflow.
The reception to the event was phenomenal! The participants gave their undivided attention and stayed till the end of the event where they then had the opportunity to network. Those who could not make it for this event should definitely not miss out on the next one!
